Do you homeschool? Do you have too much free time? Are you willing to work hard on an article or another type of contribution? Do you live in central Ohio? Want to help make this journal possible? We are looking for kids that want to contribute, just once or regularly, about any topic they are interested in.
We are interested in including contributions from a broad range of categories: News and Analysis of contemporary events (from international to local; business; sports), Entertainment (reviews of movies, music, and books; original fiction or poetry; fashion; upcoming events); Home, Garden and Cooking (including DIY projects); and Opinion (like a traditional editorial section of a newspaper). If what you want to write about doesn’t quite fit in one of those categories, we also have an “Interest” section in which we hope to highlight topics that are particularly engaging to our contributors.
Potential contributions are evaluated by a few members of our editorial board (a dedicated group of teens). Because this is an educational project, we are not looking for perfection and the editors strive to work with authors to make their work appropriate for the journal. We are shooting for a new issue on a regular basis, so we will have submission deadlines to facilitate that.
Please use the contact form to let us know if you are interested. Or if you already know someone that works on the journal, talk to them!
